Wildlife Emergency Services (WES) Updated:08/2013

Wildlife Emergency Services (WES) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving emergency response to sick, injured, orphaned, trapped or otherwise imperiled wildlife, resulting in reduced animal suffering, an increase in the number of animals that survive, enhanced public service with emphasis on public safety.
At a local level, WES organizes and maintain teams of specially trained responders to assist with emergencies involving wild animals found in distress. On a broader scale, we are dedicated to making advances in this new and emerging field through the development of standards and best practices, improvements in equipment and techniques, and through advanced training and certification programs.
For the most part, our operations are 100% volunteer - we have no employees and no paid staff. We do not receive any government funding, but rely on donations, sponsorships, and steadfastly dedicated volunteers.
Where we have contractual arrangements, WES provides various levels of service to a community, from maintaining individualized wildlife hotlines and dispatch centers to managing full-scale wildlife emergency response teams.
