The 73-acre Quail Hollow Ecological Reserve is adjacent to Quail Hollow Ranch County Park. Biotic communities in the area include redwood forest, mixed evergreen forest, chaparral, and closed-cone pine forest. Plant species include madrone, coast live oak, ferns, manzanita, and bush poppy. Bird species include pygmy nuthatch, plain titmouse, and Bewick's wren. Other animals include bats, rodents, salamanders, snakes, opossum, and more.
