Mission:
To restore, enhance, and protect the fish, wildlife, and wetland resources of the pacific coast region for the benefit of existing and future generations. To accomplish these goals through working with both public and private landowners, responsible government agencies, and other groups and organizations with like objectives.
Pacific Coast Fish, Wildlife and Wetlands Restoration Association (PCFWWRA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Northern California.
Since incorporation in 1991, completed projects include:
- Native salmon broodstock restoration projects on Horse Linto Creek, Little River, and Prairie Creek
- Instream and riparian habitat improvement projects on Little River, Redwood Creek, Dominie Creek, and Jewett Creek
- Floodplain side-channel salmonid habitat restoration on Prairie Creek
- Habitat evaluation through habitat typing in cooperation with California Department of Fish and Game and other groups throughout Humboldt and Mendocino counties
- Watershed assessments focused on upland erosion potential and prioritized treatments completed in several Humboldt and Del Norte County watersheds
- Implementation of road removal and erosion control projects in Wilson Creek, Maple Creek/Big Lagoon, Salmon Creek, Freshwater Creek, Redwood Creek, Little River, South Fork Winchuck River, and Rowdy Creek as a cooperative project on both private timberlands and in the Headwaters Forest Preserve.
- Monitoring of salmonid populations in response to sedimentation in Prairie Creek.
