Bruce has practiced architecture, urban and interior design for 27 years. His expertise includes a range of project types from theatrical, commercial and justice to custom homes and estates.

Bruce researches evolving sustainable building technologies and smart growth practices and is active in community environmental and land use related organizations. He served on the Board of Directors of the Marin Conservation League for seven years and completed the Environmental Forum of Marin’s advocate training program in 2006.

Bruce is active in the arts community and serves as a founding board member of the Lark Theater in Larkspur, CA, a state-of-the-art non-profit film center and client of Markoff / Fullerton Architects.

Before co-founding Markoff/Fullerton Architects, Bruce gained a broad range of experience in Los Angeles with the firms of Frank Gehry, Johnson Fain Periera, Keating Mann Jernigan and Rottet, and DMJM as a Project Manager, Project Architect, and Senior Designer.

Bruce earned a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design in 1988.  While attending Harvard, he studied at the ETH Zurich, Switzerland for a semester as an exchange student.

Bruce earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, with a Major in Architecture and Urban Planning, from Princeton University in 1980.

Bruce is licensed to practice architecture in California.
