Laguna Greenbelt, Inc. Updated:10/2013

We Preserve & Protect.Laguna Greenbelt, Inc. is a grassroots organization, founded in 1968 to promote the preservation of Orange County's wilderness and open space. Laguna Greenbelt works for the benefit of the general public informing, advocating and educating. Laguna Greenbelt, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supported solely through grants and personal donations of concerned citizens.

Our main purpose as defined by our mission statement reads as follows:

“The purpose of The Laguna Greenbelt is to preserve and protect the environment in and around Laguna Beach and Orange County.”

Where needed we have answered the call to protect the land, sometimes through education and outreach, at other times through negotiation and environmental litigation but most of the time through simple persuasion and dedication to this beautiful land.

Whether the threat be development, a golf course proposal in the wilderness, water runoff from nearby developments or any proposal that sacrifices or threatens the long-term survival of The Laguna Greenbelt wilderness, our organization stands ready.

The eyes of the Greenbelt can never blink or close as developers and unknowing others instigate proposals that could harm the natural landscape.

Primarily the organizations’ 40+ years history has been about our determination to preserve and protect and share our love of the land and to leave something beautiful for future generations to enjoy.
